MANAGER - PROCUREMENT & WAREHOUSE (Base in Pulau Indah Plant)

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships;

  • Control the material inventory from the point of purchases to the point of consumption;

  • Source new and review existing goods to ensure their products remain competitive;

  • Monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products;

  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms;

  • Examine and master contracts management;

  • Designed Vendor Development Programme and develop strategic supply sources for the assigned commodities. Optimise supplier’s performance, resolve suppliers’ issues and encourage suppliers to become competitive.

  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness;

  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements;

  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs;

  • Talent in negotiations, networking and experience in collecting and analysing data;

  • Participates in purchasing cost controls and cost reduction activities;

  • Monitor records of pricing, analysis and ordering of material;

  • Ensure contract and agreement are in place

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Candidate with Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain management, Logistics or Business Admin preferred;

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience preferably in rolling stock environment;

  • Candidates below 45 years of age with marketing approach preferred;

  • Critical thinking skills are essential and ability to multi-task as well as multi-function;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both English and Bahasa Melayu;

  • High level of commitment and does not mind working long hours;

  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;

  • Strong attention to details and ability to follow-through with a high level of accuracy;

  • Ability to adjust to different cultures;

  • Positive and proactive attitude as well as emotionally intelligent are crucial;

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Word, Power Point and Excel.
